Parental Involvement

P&C Association

The Black Hill Parents and Citizens’ Association meets on the third Monday in each month at the school at 7.00pm.  The P & C acts in consultation with the staff and School Council in considering and developing educational priorities and policy. The P&C supports the school by raising funds to provide amenities which are required, but are not supplied by the Department of Education & Training.

All parents are urged to join the P & C and to attend meetings.  A $3.00  family membership fee is charged which covers the insurance for volunteer activities in the school.

School Council

The school has an established School Council that meets at 6.00pm prior to the P & C, once in terms 2 and 3 and twice in terms 1 and 4.  The bi-annual election is held in September in even years, and the Annual General Meeting is held in October.  The Council is actively involved in the management of the school.  It establishes school priorities, approves the annual budget and management plan as well as all new school policies.

Parent - Teacher Interviews

A warm invitation is extended to all parents to discuss their child’s problem, progress or achievements at any time.  Teachers are most receptive to your concerns and personal contact.

To avoid disrupting the normal class routine of students however, it is advisable to ring the school where ever possible so that an appointment can be arranged.
